Public consultation on the Adaptation Strategy of Reggio Emilia Municipality: July - August 2020
Once a first Local Adaptation Strategy Proposal was drawn up, it was decided preliminarily to submit it - before its approval - to a public comparison, as foreseen by the project. The document was then published on the Municipality’s website in July 2020 for about a month and the strategy has been presented through two webinars both to a group of stakeholders including various local associations and to a Municipal Council Commission. Citizens who, through the local on-line questionnaire, expressed their willingness to have further discussion on the proposed local strategy were specifically informed of the publication in order to provide other contributions.
A brief account of the elements that emerged from this phase of comparison are reported in the Reggio Emilia Adaptation Strategy, approved in November 2020, in paragraph 2.6: “The main contributions to the strategy from the engagement process”.
Since, various contributions have highlighted the presence of the proposal of numerous measures and the lack of a planning of concrete actions. Therefore the Administration has evaluated to insert an additional paragraph in the final document, where there’s shown the selection of “priority” action measures as more effective and suited to the local situation in Reggio Emilia. On the basis of this list, 10 projects were identified to be put in the field as the best at feasibility and priority, thus implementing an operational anticipation of the actual Adaptation Plan.
